Our morning walk

Every morning Jane and I take a walk up the beach. This is our destination: a little structure called the Wedding Chapel, way at the end of the pier. We stand in the shade for a few moments and watch the pelicans fish. You can also see colorful crabs scuttling among the big rocks.

Our routine: drop off our beach towels on a couple of chaise lounges under an umbrella (palapa) on the beach, walk barefoot on the firm wet sand to the chapel and linger a bit, walk to Paradise Village and use the bathroom, visit with Jo Boss and Margo Switzer (wives of Jake and Ron, who have a timeshare down here too) by the "quiet pool" for a few moments, and then head back to the beach in front of our building via the concrete walkway that runs between the beach and the resorts.

After that, we take up our seats on the beach until the guys show up. Sometimes they're already there.
