Today our beach waiter, David, alerted us to a big event on the beach - a baby Olive Ridley Turtle making its way into the surf! Even though the turtle conservancy is just down the beach, once in a while a nest escapes their attention and one or more turtles hatch unattended. Fortunately, this hatchling was attended by one of the beach waiters, Carlos, who is no stranger to such occurrences.
The video is of the very last part of the journey, up to the water line and beyond. It takes two waves to carry it off to its destiny.
