Till now, we've been provisioning ourselves by lugging sacks of groceries and beer from the local mini-mart. Today, we decided to take a cab to the MEGA store, a Meijer-style store a few miles away.
Based on its offerings, I must say that Horrock's does a good job of offering many of the Mexican produce options I saw here.
These two pictures tell a story about the priorities of the customers here, who appeared to be a decent mix of locals and U.S. visitors:
First of all, limes. Limes, limes, limes. Big ones, small ones. Mounds of limes. We bought several, to cut up and wedge into our Coronas and Negra Modelos.
Another item that seems to be popular: Activia yogurt. If you've seen the commercials, you know it is supposed to help "normalize" the digestive tract. Almost an entire dairy case devoted to a product that helps people poop. That says a lot about the clientele.
